Some New CoD2 Optimizers

Ok, for those of us who play call of duty 2, we all realize that direct X9 is either A)Unplayable or B)Slower offering less reaction time. The first new optimizer is one that will only work for the Nvidia graphics units. This is just a simple driver upgrade that they released this morning. The 81.94 drivers. Just head over to http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_81.94.html to pick up these new drivers.

The 2nd optimization is a custom DX9 config i made. Me and sparks have been the first 2 people to test it and man, it really smooths things out. All you need to do is head over to this link http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D6GHXLBR and extract this config over your old config (WARNING:This will re-write all custom buttons, graphic settings, and your name to their default settings, remember to change all things back to what you had them set too). Your current config is located in this folder if you need help finding it;

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\main\players\Jewish_Schmoo

Please tell me how this config works, if it even works at all. It's only been tested on the Nvidia chipset so-far, but I wanna know if it works with the ATI chipset. Your DX9 framerate should improve somewhere between 10-30% if your running Nvidia. Have Fun!

yeah, did i mention you have to have a REALLY good video card? If it isn't a 6600 or above, then dont expect this to be a magical cure for CoD2 to run better in DX9, 10-30% is not a big diffrence when your getting 5 FPS . If you couldn't run in DX9 before the config, then you wont be able to run in it after. But i would like to know if it actually degraded performance, or if it was just too laggy to tell.

I have an ATI card, and the config has improved my FPS by about the same percentage you were talking about. I am, however, still playing on directx7. It did improve my framerates on 9, but I prefer the higher framerates i get with 7 for gameplay.

Ok, cool. im glad it works with ATI too, but yeah...it still takes a pretty powerful card to run this game in DX9
